Ioannis Vasileiou

Theme 4.3: Policy Analysis

Ioannis is a biologist by training, he received a Joint Master’s degree in Energy and Environmental Management from the University of Piraeus and the National Technical University of Athens, and a second Master’s Degree in International Affairs from Columbia University, specializing in Economic and Political Development. Ioannis has worked on sustainability issues both as an intern and in professional roles, in the Cabinet of the Commissioner for Environment of European Commission, at the United Nations, including work with the Climate Change Support Team of the Secretary General, the Division for Sustainable Development at UN DESA, and the UN Global Compact , as well as with the non-profit sector, including the Millennium Promise. Most recently, he worked on innovation policies in a consulting project with the Government of Kazakhstan, and in the UN Global Pulse. His research focus is on climate change, sustainability and social impact investing.
