Wiebke Foerch joined ILRI-Nairobi as CCAFS Science Officer for Theme 4: Integration for Decision Making in September 2010. Her PhD research in the Arid Lands Resource Sciences Interdisciplinary Program at the University of Arizona is entitled “Community resilience to resource scarcity in the context of population growth in Tigray, Ethiopia”. She holds a Bachelors (Honors) Degree in Agriculture from the University of Reading.
Her professional experience and research interests revolve around international development, agricultural development, food security and vulnerability and global change impacts on society.
Wiebke is originally from Germany, but has spent her childhood as well as much of her professional life abroad, and she comes with experience garnered in places such as Ethiopia, Yemen, Tanzania and India.
