Patti Kristjanson

Dr. Kristjanson is an agricultural economist whose expertise includes poverty and livelihood analyses, impact assessment and agricultural system analyses.

She has over 20 years of post-PhD experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams from international and national agricultural research centres, in collaboration with universities, donors, private and public sectors across Africa and Asia.

With University teaching and student supervision experience along with applied economic and policy analysis training in Africa and Asia, Dr. Kristjanson has published widely and has presented at numerous international conferences.

Based in Nairobi at the International Livestock Research Institute from 1996 to 2010, her recent focus has been upon exploring how and what innovative agricultural research, engagement models, and institutional change can increase the likelihood of generating knowledge linking with actions that help sustainably alleviate poverty.
