The Eastern African Farmer Innovation Fair (EAFIF) is part of the Week on Agricultural Innovation in Africa (WAIA) which will be held from 25th to 31st May 2013. The fair will be immediately followed by an International Workshop on Agricultural Innovation Systems in Africa (AISA). The fair will celebrate the creativity of Eastern African smallholder farmers – women and men – and give them public recognition.

A broad array of scientific knowledge about the impacts of climate change has been gathered over the last decades. Yet, in many respects it remains fragmentary, and a quantitative synthesis of climate impacts, including consistent estimates of uncertainties, is still missing.
The Impacts World 2013 conference aims to develop a new vision for climate impacts research by laying the foundations for regular, community-driven syntheses of climate change impact analyses. It will bring together leading scientists and decision makers from local to international levels.
Impact World 2013 is designed to provide a platform for lively exchange and constructive discussion on five key challenges for climate impact research in the coming decades.

This year, from the 25th to 31st May, various institutions and organisations will come together to celebrate a Week on Agricultural Innovation in Africa (WAIA). The week will offer participants the opportunity to explore approaches that enhance knowledge-to-action linkages among actors in agricultural innovation systems in Africa.
The week is the result of a collaboration between the CGIAR Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) research programme, the Joint Learning in Innovation Systems in African Agriculture (JOLISAA), the Promoting Local Innovation in Ecologically Orientated Agriculture and Natural Resource Management (PROLINNOVA) international network, and the Food System Innovation for Food Security (FSIFS).
