Jesús David Martínez is an agronomist engineer with a Master's degree in Agricultural Science from the National University of Colombia. He has over seven years of experience in the agricultural sector focusing on proposing and coordinating research projects, data analysis, vulnerability and rural socioeconomic risk assessments, climate change, greenhouse gas inventory and crops and cattle modeling.

Recently, Jesús David has been working in Latin America, mainly doing research in order to provide information for policy makers at national, regional and local levels. Some relevant activities which he has been involved in are the construction of climate change adaptation planning for some departments in Colombia, the generation of information for investment in mitigation in livestock and agriculture sectors and the assessment of climate change risk in agriculture, livestock and energy sectors.
