Chase is a visiting researcher at the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), and a doctoral candidate at the University of Oxford, Environmental Change Institute (ECI). He works with CCAFS Climate Smart Agricultural Practices Flagship, coordinating research on the costs of community-based adaptation, national climate change policy, and the interaction between planned and autonomous adaptation. His background is in political science and socioeconomics, with project experience in Latin America, Africa, and South/Southeast Asia. Prior to his work with CCAFS and the University of Oxford, he completed a post at the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations as a member of the Investment Assessment Project team.
