Scientists want farmers involved in climate change plans - Business Daily Africa

Scientists want local communities involved in looking for interventions on climate change in order to increase adoption of new agriculture policies.

CGIAR Climate's insight:
The Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research Programme on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) said in a report that climate forecasts should consider the socioeconomic realities. James Kinyangi, regional programme official at the CCAFS in East Africa, said that there was a need to constitute a national climate change authority with a mandate to implement and mainstream adaptation and mitigation actions across all social and development sectors.
