Program Management Unit

The Program Director of the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) is assisted by the CCAFS Program Management Unit (PMU), made up of five full time staff members. This unit oversees the implementation of CCAFS, in particular the coordination of activities across CGIAR Centers, CGIAR Research Programs (CRPs), and other partners; coordinating strategic foresight, planning, and reporting at the CCAFS level; preparing the annual work plans and budgets; interfacing between CCAFS and CGIAR System Organization and CGIAR Fund Council on budgets, contracts and financial reporting; preparing funding proposals; compiling annual reports and monitoring indicators; producing synthesis products; overseeing CCAFS capacity enhancement; and ensuring global outreach and visibility. Staffing levels in the PMU are small given that the bulk of activities are implemented through Centers and partners involved in CCAFS using existing research management and administrative support systems.

Currently, Wageningen University & Research hosts the Program Management Unit, with the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) (CCAFS' Lead Center) undertaking some administrative functions.
