Sustainability Science Congress: Global Challenges: Achieving Sustainability

Taking place in Copenhagen, Denmark from 22-24 October 2014, the IARU International Sustainability Science Conference puts focus on research related to global sustainability issues.

This international and solutions orientated congress invites experts across disciplines to break down academic barriers and jumpstart a broader collaboration on sustainable solutions relevant for society. Also targeting businesses and policy makers, the congress aims to provide a platform for science-policy interface relevant for global challenges.

The congress will host several parallel sessions and a number of plenary speakers. The focus is on integrative sessions with participants from several disciplines. This unique setup will offer a stimulating environment for discussing the latest results in specific topics as well as engaging in a broader collaboration for sustainable
solutions.

Take the opportunity to present new knowledge or perspectives that address the challenges in focus for one of the 15 theme sessions. We welcome all evidence-based contributions that either have a solutions orientated focus on global challenges or provide new insight on the understanding of the challenges. See detailed descriptions and submit your abstract. You can request to present with a session talk or a poster with dealine being 31 March 2014. The final decision will be made by the session organisers.

The CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) is hosted by the Faculty of Science at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark.

CCAFS Head of Research Sonja Vermeulen will together with John Porter organise a session entitled “Feeding future generations with limited resources”.
