Webinar: Climate-smart agriculture: tools for action
Are you looking for clear guidance on implementing climate-smart agriculture?
Agriculture plays an important role in the fight against climate change: good practices can increase resilience and food security, and reduce emissions. In line with this, agriculture featured in more than 80% of country plans submitted to the UN Climate Negotiations in Paris.
Climate-smart agriculture can help countries deliver on their commitments under the Paris Climate Agreement: making agriculture more climate resilient (improving adaptation and food security) and reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the food system.
This one-hour webinar will provide an overview of the CSA Guide, a new online resource for implementing climate-smart agriculture, including prioritization tools, case studies, and funding opportunities.
It is aimed at agricultural development professionals and national policy makers who want to transform agriculture initiatives, to become climate-resilient and reduce emissions from farming.
Participants will have the opportunity to pose questions to the speakers at the end of the session. These speakers include:
- Bruce Campbell, Program Director, CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security
- Olaf Westermann, Senior Consultant, CCAFS
- Holger Kray, Head of the Africa Agriculture Policy Unit, World Bank
Moderator: Vanessa Meadu, CCAFS Global Communications and Knowledge Manager
The webinar is hosted by the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS).
