Jana Korner works as Global Innovation Manager at CCAFS Southeast Asia. She studied in Spain and Germany and did a Bachelor in European Business in 2002. After a short mission as junior expert with the German Development Service (now GIZ) in North Darfur, Sudan, she joint the German NGO Welthungerhilfe (WHH). For ten years, she worked as expert/project manager for Food and Nutrition Security Projects in several countries (Sudan again, Afghanistan, Germany/North Korea, Cuba and Myanmar). The work with the Cuban Institute for Agricultural Research inspired her to take up a Master’s Study in Wageningen, Netherlands where she did an MSc degree in Rural Development and Innovation. Since February 2017, she is seconded by CIM/GIZ to support the CCAFS program by looking into scaling and all that this entails. She is also part of a newly established ‘task force’ of 7 CIM seconded experts in the different CGIAR Research Programs.
