CCAFS @ COP25 | Raising ambition for climate action in Latin America through transformation of food systems
About the event
The current set of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) overwhelmingly prioritize agriculture as a sector for climate action (both adaptation and mitigation). These priorities are likely to be reflected in the second set of NDCs submitted ahead of COP26.

Chile, holding the Presidency for COP25, has highlighted the role of science in informing climate action, under the theme "time for action." This provides an excellent basis to showcase science-based solutions to enhance ambition for climate action in agriculture.
Objectives
Drawing on the latest scientific findings from the "Transforming Food Systems Under a Changing Climate" initiative, the event aims to provide science-based solutions to catalyze a transformation across food systems in Latin America, thereby enabling countries to enhance their ambition for adaptation and mitigation.
