Event Information

The CCAFS Planning Workshop was a targeted event, which included 130 people from different stakeholder groups and from the different targeted regions.

Objectives:

  • To engage stakeholders in a discussion on program focus to provide guidance on initial priorities and to ensure relevance and on-going engagement
  • To initiate a process of scenario development in all regions (West Africa, East Africa and South Asia)
  • To discuss and identify the key opportunities for research impact in the target regions
  • To map out the detailed regional and national partnerships to be developed
  • To identify target regions and sites
  • To identify and agree on the first set of research activities to be undertaken both within regions and on generic issues across all Themes.
  • To build a communication strategy for influence and impact

Workshop report

This report documents the CCAFS Planning Workshop held on May 5-7, 2010 in Nairobi, Kenya. This report is not finally synthesised, but tries to capture the workshop output in a non-interpreted way.

This documentation is meant to be a reference document for all participants and is intended to provide details of what transpired. Almost all results of the working groups and plenary sessions are documented.
