Webinar: Synergies between Adaptation and Mitigation in Agriculture
On September 17 at 17:00 CET [Convert to local time] the Latin America program of the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) , in collaboration with the Platform Finanzas Carbono, Platform REGATTA from United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Central American Agricultural Council (CAC ) are organising the webinar 'Synergies between adaptation and mitigation' (event will be in Spanish).
The webinar aims to discuss possible synergies between adaptation and mitigation measures to climate change that can be implemented in the agricultural sector. The session will be held by Laura Meza, an expert from the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) on climate change and environment and Peter Läderach, who is a research expert on agriculture and climate change based with the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT).
Laura Meza has significant experience working within the United Nations Organization for Food and Agriculture (FAO) in the region of Latin America and the Caribbean, and specializes in issues of adaptation of production systems to climate change and support agricultural policy design.
In turn, Peter Läderach has extensive experience within the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) in the analysis of synergies between mitigation and adaptation to climate change in agriculture and especially in spatial analysis tools supply chain of coffee and cocoa.
