At the mention of Nyando village, the issue that comes to mind is floods. Year in year out, residents of Nyando have had to contend with floods, with the option of moving to higher ground being the easiest yet inconclusive solution. But now a new concept of Smart Villagers is proving to be that much needed practical solution for the residents, as they struggle to adapt to the vagaries of changing climate that has ravaged them for years. Rosalia Omungo was in the Nyando basin in Kisumu County and now reports in this weeks' edition of Earth Watch.
