Third International Conference on Climate Services
The Climate Services Partnership is pleased to announce the third International Conference on Climate Services (ICCS 3), to be held on 4-6 December 2013 in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
The demand for climate services is rapidly growing across the globe. Climate services involve the timely provision of tailored scientific information in a way that allows individuals and societies to manage the risks, limit the costs, and take advantage of the opportunities associated with climate-related impacts. While climate services are being provided through pilot efforts in many parts of the world, moving beyond these initial efforts to implement climate services at scale remains a challenge.
The third International Conference on Climate Services (ICCS 3) will explore opportunities and challenges regarding the transition to sustained climate services. This year's conference will also include special sessions on issues including drought management, coastal management, and climate-related health interventions. Additionally, ICCS 3 will provide an opportunity for updates of a variety of projects initiated in previous conferences and contribute to the development of the Climate Services Partnership work plan.
