UN Climate Change Conference COP18

The annual Conference of the Parties (COP) is rotated between the five UN regional groups, with the African Group hosting 2011 and the Asian Group 2012. COP18 will take place from 26 November to 7 December 2012 and is likely to be held in Qatar's captial of Doha. In connection to the meeting, South Korea will host a key transitional meeting to help ministers prepare for the event. In short,  The State of Qatar and the Republic of Korea will make joint efforts to globally promote and implement the green growth agenda at and in the run-up to the conference. The conference will most likely focus on how to secure a legally binding international deal to cut emissions that can come into force between 2015 and 2020.
