Lawmaker proposes P1 carbon tax on power use | Phillippine Star

In the Philippines, Representative Luis Raymund Villafuerte has proposed a carbon tax on electricity consumption, which aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, promote the use of green energy, and raise funds for climate change mitigation measures. His proposal cites a March 2018 study supported by CCAFS, which concluded that the Philippines could supplement 57-60 percent of its energy needs with renewables by 2040 by utilizing a strategy of carbon taxes and subsidies.
