Système intégré sol-eau-énergie comme modèle de production climato-intelligent agro-sylvo-pastoral à Cinzana au Mali

L'intégration des systèmes de production animale dans le Village Climato-Intelligent (CSV) du Mali est considérée comme une opportunité unique de dynamiser le secteur de l'élevage de la région de Ségou au Mali compte tenu de son énorme potentiel de réduction de la pauvreté et de l’amélioration de la sécurité alimentaire.
Compte tenu de la disponibilité et l'adoption d'interventions limitées dans le secteur, CCAFS souhaite utiliser son CSV à Cinzana pour promouvoir l'adoption de systèmes agro-sylvopastoraux climato-intelligents pour l'amélioration et la disponibilité durable de fourrage pour l’alimentation du bétail. Une documentation suffisante sur les espèces fourragères, les perceptions des agriculteurs sur leur utilisation, les priorités parmi les éleveurs et leurs profils nutritionnels sont également considérées comme des lacunes cruciales à combler dans la zone du projet pour le développement stratégique des technologies axées sur l'élevage et l'alimentation du bétail dans la région.
Les objectifs du projet sont:
- Diagnostiquer les contraintes liées à la production des cultures et du bétail pour éclairer la planification et la conception des interventions de l'agriculture intelligente face au climat,
- Établir des parcelles de démonstration dotées de perimètres maraichers et diverses techniques de conservation du sol et de l'eau ainsi que des variétés de cultures améliorées pour l'évaluation de l'efficacité des agriculteurs à l'aide d'indicateurs de productivité des cultures,
- Concevoir et mettre en œuvre un système sylvopastoral irrigué clos qui servira de pâturage, dans le but d'améliorer la productivité fourragère et la nutrition du bétail,
- Évaluer les besoins énergétiques des ménages et effectuer une analyse du cycle de vie d'un système d'agrosylvopastoral pour la production de bioénergie
- Évaluer l'importance économique du système agro-sylvo-pastoral.
Resultats attendus
- Des informations de base sur la production animale sont développées comme point d'entrée pour définir les options de développement pour une production animale durable;
- Diverses pratiques et technologies CSA testées pour une mise à l'échelle;
- Profil botanique et nutritionnel des espèces fourragères prioritaires est élaboré et mis à la disposition de tous les acteurs de l'élevage;
- Un modèle de système agro-sylvo-pastoral est développé et démontré pour une adoption locale;
- L'analyse du cycle de vie du système agro-sylvopastoral est réalisée pour informer les pratiques de gestion pour la réduction des émissions;
- La séquestration du carbone au sein du système agro-sylvo-pastoral est déterminée;
- Les agriculteurs, les décideurs politiques et les défenseurs du développement adoptent le système agro-sylvo-pastoral pour améliorer la sécurité alimentaire et la production durable de bioénergie
