Science Seminar: Who has a right to climate change adaptation? Social differentiation in promoting climate resilience
On 18 February, the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) is organising a seminar which will explore the social dimensions of climate change: how development programming needs to embrace resilience, the transformative cornerstones of social science research for climate change, and gender and social differentiation in building agricultural climate resilience.
Seminar Description:
Climate change brings unprecedented challenges for livelihoods in developing countries. Development and humanitarian assistance, research for development and our whole conception of equity and risk need to factor in climate change.
On 18 February, the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) is organising a seminar which will explore the social dimensions of climate change: how development programming needs to embrace resilience, the transformative cornerstones of social science research for climate change, and gender and social differentiation in building agricultural climate resilience.
The seminar, which will be held in Copenhagen and streamed live through the CCAFS website, will include three short presentations that will be followed by a panel discussion from leading development experts, and then an open discussion during which both the live and virtual audience will have the opportunity to ask questions. CCAFS, DIIS, and the University of Copenhagen would like to welcome all members of the development and humanitarian, agricultural, climate change and environmental science communities, as well as students and other interested persons to attend the seminar in Copenhagen either in person, or through the CCAFS live streaming webpage.
