The Ethiopia Ministry of Agriculture, Climate Change Forum-Ethiopia (CCF-E) and the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) East Africa will hold a one day national conference on "Climate Change Vulnerability and Risk Assessment of Agriculture and Food Security in Ethiopia: Which Way Forward?". The conference will take place on Friday, 14 December 2012, at the Rift Valley Hotel in Adama, Ethiopia.

During the first conference held in July, 2011, 13 papers were presented on a wide range of climate change issues. As a follow to the first conference, four consultants were identified to undertake a field assessment of climate vulnerability for crops, livestock, natural resources, including policy issues in order to identify specific areas of intervention. The objective of the second conference is to present and discuss the findings of the field assessment and to create a plan for integrating adaptation and mitigation actions and policies into the national framework.
