Climate-smart agriculture indicators are essential for making CSA fully operational. Photo: D. Kadyampakeni (CCAFS).

This webinar will introduce the CSA indicators and demonstrate how they can be applied to countries and agricultural projects.

Achieving climate-smart agricultural outcomes will require transformations at different scales, governance levels, and time horizons. The World Bank CSA indicators provide policymakers and development practitioners with a framework for implementing the necessary policy, technical, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) to make CSA fully operational.

There are three CSA indices: Policy, Technology, and Results.

  • The Policy indicators help in evaluating the extent to which countries have adopted climate smart agricultural policies.
  • The Technology indicators can be used for selecting climate-smart technologies for widespread dissemination in agricultural projects, and for evaluating the extent to which newly generated technologies are climate-smart.
  • Lastly, the Results indicators measure the outputs and outcomes of development projects/activities on the three dimensions of productivity, resilience and mitigation.
