Scaling climate-smart agriculture in Eastern and Southern Africa for resilient food systems

On December 9-10, 2020, NWO-WOTRO and the Food & Business Knowledge Platform organized the final virtual Food & Business Research Conference session on 'Scaling Insights for Sustainable Food Systems'.

This partnership aims at addressing persistent food security challenges in low and middle income countries and the urgent and growing need for adequate knowledge and solutions for regional and local problems related to food security. This final conference brought together all 75 from the Global Challenges Program (GCP) and the Applied Research Fund.

The objective of the GCP is to promote research based advanced understanding of emerging key issues in global and regional food security, their impact on local food security and the role of private sector development. The aim of the fourth call (GCP4), supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, is to contribute to business models, incentives and innovative finance for scaling climate-smart agriculture across East Africa,
