The Iberoamerican Network of Climate Change Offices (Red Iberoamericana de Oficinas de Cambio Climático, RIOCC) is organising a workshop as part of its work on climate change adaptation.

The aim of the RIOCCADAPT project is to identify, review and assess adaptation actions that are being implemented in response to climate change throughout the RIOCC countries (22 nations are involved, see the list here). Both planned and autonomous adaptation actions will be analysed for a total of 16 systems and sectors, including the different natural resources and systems, several climatic hazards and other key sectors. The project intends to make visible the experience and practice of RIOCC countries in terms of climate adaptation measures.

At this workshop, Ana Maria Loboguerrero, Regional Program Leader for CCAFS Latin America will present a chapter of the RIOCCADAPT report on forest and terrestrial ecosystems on behalf of Mercedes Bustamante. The report aims to serve as a resource for regional decisionmakers and/or other national and international agents, and to provide the general public with information about how climate change adaptation needs are being addressed by Iberoamerican countries.
