No More Food To Waste: Global action to stop food waste and food losses

The conference aims to bring together a wide range of relevant stakeholders in the food system to share experiences and demonstrate combined action in partnerships in the food chain.

During the 4-day conference, case studies, success stories and pilots for partnerships for the reduction of food waste and food losses will be presented. Working sessions will be organized around cases and best practices with potential i.a. by multinationals as well as small and medium sized enterprises.

The conference will seek to launch pilots that can be scaled up and will aim to establish concrete commitments to reduce food waste and losses. What is already working, what is still work in progress?

This conference is hosted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Government of the Netherlands, in close cooperation with the Government of Vietnam, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the African Union Commission (AUC).

Sonja Vermeulen, Head of Research at the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) will be the moderator of the Panel discussion of the Opening Plenary: perspective on food loss and waste, opportunities for action.
