Among the decisions adopted by Parties at the Bonn Climate Change Conference in November 2017, one of the most significant for the global agriculture community is the Koronivia joint work on agriculture. The decision recognizes the importance of agriculture in responding to climate change and requests the two Subsidiary Bodies for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA) and Implementation (SBI) to work together on issues related to agriculture, taking into consideration the vulnerabilities of agriculture to climate change and approaches towards achieving food security. Read more about the decision on our blog.

Parties and observers now have the opportunity to submit their views on how this work should take shape. To support Parties and observers in preparing their submissions, and to facilitate dialogue on the key opportunities and challenges, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) together with CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) is organizing this webinar.

We would like invite all UNFCCC focal points, agriculture negotiators and observers to take part in this interactive dialogue to discuss the implications of the Koronivia decision for the future work on agriculture under SBSTA and SBI.

Participants will:

• Get an understanding of the key opportunities and challenges involved in advancing Koronivia joint work on agriculture.
• Have the opportunity for dialogue on the topics identified in the Koronivia decision.
