Tek Sapkota

Tek Sapkota currently works in the sustainable intensification program of the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) as ais a climate change and agricultural systems scientist. He holds a PhD in Agricultural Environment from Sant’ Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa, Italy. He has over 15 years of experience in strategic research in the area of agriculture and climate interface. Additionally, he is a lead author of the special report on climate change and land of the Inter-Governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

His research interest includes the analysis of cropping systems from the food security climate change nexus. Besides, he is involved in studying management consequences on various processes in agro-ecosystems and their effect on food security, climate change adaptation and mitigation. Until today, he authored more than 30 journal articles, book chapters, popular articles as well as many conference and industry articles in the area of sustainable agriculture, climate change and food security.
