The Climate African Farmers Counted On Is Gone | World Policy Institute

By Esther Ngumbi

CGIAR Climate's insight:

"In West Africa, Mali’s President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita presides over a state under siege by terrorists," Ngumbi writes. "But he also faces a threat to his people that makes fewer international headlines: climate change."

Arguing that one of the necessary steps for containing this threat is the availability of reliable weather and climate information, Ngumbi goes on to mention CCAFS work, such as the 'training-of-trainers', which "can be scaled up across Africa".
