Outcomes

In June 2018, the NAMA Facility approved the EUR 14,900,000 funding for a pioneering NAMA Support Project on rice in Thailand. This 5-year project is expected to generate at least EUR 21.5 million more of private sector investments.

The adoption of alternate wetting and drying and other low-emission development technologies, developed by IRRI, is the centerpiece of the project. The project aims to reach 100,000 farmers and promote the development of the agricultural service sector through support to 420 small-medium enterprises in 6 provinces in the Central Plains of Thailand.
