Driving social change for more sustainable decisions

Add to Calendar
For a transformation of our food systems by 2030, behavioral change is needed at both quick speed and large scale.
Youth-centered social movements and social media supported by science have the potential to reach millions and catalyze climate action and policy decisions. For this to be successful, clear scopes, targets and mechanisms are required.

Researchers and agencies tackling climate change and food system sustainability outcomes also need to look for ways to support such social movements, for example through better understanding their dynamics and success factors, by identifying novel means to co-generate knowledge and successfully communicate, forging connections between stakeholders, and fostering platforms for interaction and education in today’s interconnected, globalized world.

Panellists of this session will include a range of youth representatives from different social movements and/or initiatives to share inspiring experiences and views, on promising mechanisms to foster linkages with science to support food system transformation.
