Dr. Jacobo Arango will author the next IPCC report's chapter on mitigation pathways.

Dr. Arango is a researcher for the Tropical Forrages Program at the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), and he leads the LivestockPlus project, supported by the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) Latin America. LivestockPlus is an initiative that facilitates the development and implementation of Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) in Costa Rica's and Colombia's livestock sectors.

Dr. Arango's work with the IPCC will start in 2019. He is the third researcher associated with CCAFS who contributes to the IPCC Assessment Reports, after Ngoni Chirinda and Rolando Barahona, both working for the LivestockPlus project.

What is the IPCC?

The IPCC is the main international body evaluating climate change and works to offer a clear scientific vision of the current state of knowledge on climate change and its potential environmental and socio-economical consequences. The IPCC publishes comprehensive assessment reports - technical and scientific - on climate change, with support from researchers from across the world who work as authors, contributing authors and reviewers.
