Interview with Regional CCAFS Program Leader James Kinyangi | UNFCCC Climate Change Studio

CGIAR Climate's insight:

In an interview at the COP21 climate conference held in December in Paris, Kinyangi explains why it is high time agriculture was included and safeguarded in the new climate deal.

"...going through the whole range of commitments that have been submitted by the [COP21] parties [...] we see that nearly 90% of those are making reference to issues that are related to agriculture, forestry, land-use and land-use change," Kinyangi says in the interview.

"We really want to see agriculture framed in the emerging deal, post 2020, as a solution to the climate change challenge," Kinyangi adds.
