Solar power replacing diesel for farmers in India | CGIAR
Solar power is transforming the life of farmers living in Chakhaji village in Bihar, India. In this area, solar energy is being used as a cleaner, faster and cheaper alternative to diesel, for crop irrigation and household water supply. To add to the incentive, new business models developed by the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) are turning farmers into solar irrigation providers.
