Scenario-guided planning for Climate Smart Agriculture workshop
This workshop will address Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) investment and policy recommendations for Vietnam, based on future climate and socio-economic scenarios.
Last year, Southeast Asian stakeholders came together to develop future scenarios which have now been quantified through simulation modelling. These socio-economic and climate scenarios provide the context for this review workshop of investment proposals developed within the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Economics and Policy Innovations for Climate Smart Agriculture (EPIC) process.
The workshop will be facilitated by the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) and FAO EPIC Programme, together with the Northern mountainous Agriculture and Forestry Science Institute (NOMAFSI).
Entitled: “Scenario-guided planning for Climate Smart Agriculture,” the workshop is expected to address the following:
- Improved CSA investment proposals supported by decision-makers and funders, proven to be feasible under diverse scenarios.
- Recommendations following an analysis of what policy conditions must be established for CSA to be successful.
- Revised and improved climate/socio-economic scenarios, tailored to the context in Vietnam.
- A new network of participants able to take the development and implementation of CSA investment proposals and policy recommendations forward.
