On International Women's Day, CCAFS highlights how women take action on climate change in agriculture.

Women make important contributions to agriculture and food security under climate change. There is a need for stronger steps to be taken on real gender equality and climate policy programs.

The CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) is stepping up for gender equality in many ways to support women farmers in a changing climate.

In the story published on International Women's Day, CCAFS shares diverse voices, experiences, and knowledge of women participating in CCAFS activities across the regions.

On International Women's Day, Sophia Huyer shares her views on the role of women in climate change adaptation in agriculture.

Women’s participation is critical in tackling climate change in agriculture. As Sophia Huyer, CCAFS Flagship Leader on Gender and social inclusion writes in a new article published on Thomson Reuters Foundation news,

any meaningful transformation is not likely to happen without the active engagement of women, who take on a tremendous proportion of farm work.

This is particularly true for the agriculture and food security sector. In a new CCAFS info note on 'Gender and international climate policy', Sophia Huyer anayzes the progress in gender equality at COP21.
