Elke Vandamme is working as a Food Systems Agronomist at the International Potato Center (CIP) and is based in the CIP Kigali office in Rwanda. Previously, she worked as a student with the Tropical Soil Biology and Fertility Institute of CIAT in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Kenya, and later as a post-doctoral fellow and scientist at the Africa Rice Center in Benin and Tanzania. She has expertise on integrated crop and resource management within agri-food systems, and is currently working on developing a portfolio for sustainable intensification, diversification and climate resilience of potato- and sweetpotato-based systems in sub-Saharan Africa. Elke holds a PhD and an MSc from the University of Leuven in Belgium.
