Live Video Science Seminar: Index-based insurance for agriculture

On 19 September, the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) is organizing an online Science Seminar, where Dr. Michael Carter, from University of California Davis, will be live streamed during a presentation on the limitations and promise of risk transfer innovations in developing countries. Dr. Carter will present case studies from East Africa, including index-based livestock insurance in Kenya, and interlinking credit and insurance in Ethiopia. He will also discuss the future research agenda for index insurance. After the presentation the audience will be given an opportunity to ask questions.
